DANNY ELFMAN INTERVIEW: "THIS IS DAUNTING IN THE EXTREME..."

My youngest son Oliver is eight. My first conscious moment each day is a kiss goodbye when he goes to school. I then hopefully get a few hours more sleep before I start my day. I try to see him either at dinner or at bedtime. That’s all I see him during the week. On Saturday nights we have movie night. Right now we’re going through all the films of the Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki. My favourite is always going to be Spirited Away. Oliver’s is between Princess Mononoke and My Neighbour Totoro.

I shuttle back and forth to London a lot when I’m working with Tim [Burton], which we will be soon on Big Eyes. If we’re not talking about work, we’ll go and sit in a pub for a pint and talk about how our families are doing – I am godfather to his son, Billy. Other than that, we usually are talking about music and the films and work. We’re both rather obsessive.

Tim Burton to Direct Christoph Waltz, Amy Adams in 'Big Eyes'

Berita agak lama, Tim Burton akan menyutradarai film Big Eyes yang artinya Danny Elfman akan membuat musiknya. Big Eyes akan bercerita mengenai kehidupan Walter Keane dan istrinya Margaret Keane, pasangan suami-istri yang pada tahun '50an dan '60an memproduksi massal lukisan-lukisan anak-anak bermata besar. Tim Burton Reunites With 'Ed Wood' Scribes For 'Addams Family' And 'Big Eyes'

Situs Deadline.com melaporkan bahwa Tim Burton akan menjadi produser untuk dua film yaitu The Addams Family dan Big Eyes. Berikut kutipannya:


Tim Burton has reunited with his Ed Wood screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski on a pair of projects. They will write The Addams Family, the stop-motion animated film that Burton and Chris Meledandri are producing for Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures. At the same time, Burton has come on to be a producer of Big Eyes, the fact-based drama which the duo wrote as a directing vehicle, based on artist Margaret Keane's struggle to get credit for the line of paintings of big-eyed children that became wildly popular in the 60s. Burton will produce with Lynette Howell's Silverwood Films banner.

Jika Tim Burton menjadi produser film, bisa jadi Danny Elfman terlibat untuk musiknya, misalnya 9 yang disutradarai Shane Acker, Elfman membuat tema-temanya sedangkan score-nya dikembangkan dari tema-tema tersebut oleh Deborah Lurie.
